Feb. 25, 2013

Sanderson Family,

This past week Rio Bravo had some more baptisms! We baptized a part-member family (the young son named Juan) and a woman that we have been working with named Jaine Diaz. So legit! The Lord has truly blessed us with some awesome miracles. I'll be sure to send photos.

Its been a little while since I last updated you on all our investigators so here ya go:

Robert Mungia (33): Husband of our super awesome Recent Convert Gabriella Mungia. He has never been really religious his entire life and has little or no understanding of who Jesus Christ is and what He did for us.  The teaching process with him has been a little slower because his work schedule is crazy, but he is consistently coming to church and keeping all of his commitments. His main struggle right now is that he has problems with smoking and drinking. He has done both his entire life and so its been hard for him to let go. He had made alot of progress and has already ready half of the Book of Mormon! He has a baptismal date for the 17th of March.

Sara Sanchez (50's): Awesome woman we found while walking down the street. The Spirit has been really working on her and she has felt the need to change. She's an cool grandma that wants us to teach her grandchildren, but the parents are never home. She loves church and the ward has really reached out to her. She has a baptismal date for the 10th of March.\

Santa "Claus" Leopoldo (50's): Woman that we met while looking for a former. Crazy story, we actually knocked on her door just moments after she had just prayed for a way to have more guidence in her life. I love knowing that the Lord can trust us with answering someone elses' prayer. Anyways she has some friends that are members of the ward and so the fellowship has been great! She has a baptismal date for the 24th of March.

So thats all our investigators that came to church last week and so by definition are progressing haha there are other but I'm afraid we might have to drop them. This week was pretty rough because I have been sick with the flu all week up until this last Friday. During that time I finished El Libro de Mormon in espanol! haha I felt pretty accomplished. We also learned who our new Mission President will be so I will attach his Bio for you all!

Fernando Maluenda Mateluna, 50, and Priscila Ximena París Fredes de Maluenda, six children, Parkview Ward, Sandy Utah Granite South Stake. Brother Maluenda is a ward Sunday School teacher and former Area Seventy, stake president, bishop and missionary in the Washington Seattle Mission. Director for temporal affairs, Corporation of the Presiding Bishop. Born in Santiago, Chile, to Julio del Carmen Maluenda and Ana Luisa de Maluenda Mateluna.

Sister Maluenda is a ward Relief Society committee member and former ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and counselor, counselor in a ward Primary presidency and ward Primary teacher. Born in Santiago, Chile, to Luis Ernesto París Verdugo and Ana Albertina Fredes Aguilera
