Week 9

Familia,                                              9/10/2012

It's crazy to think but Yesterday I hit my 4 month mark. Time is just flying by and I hope it is for you as well.

K so crazy story. So remember the Latin King that jacked my watch? Haha well we were riding our bikes and he pulls up next to us and gave it back. He said that he was afraid that he would be damned because he stole from a "God person". Haha that's what he calls us. His name is Amado and yeah, he isn't to down to hear the gospel but wants to play basketball with us sometime. So yeah, I got my watch back. Happy Day!

It has been super super hot here lately, like 110+ some days. Luckily there is always some sort of breeze here in Texas so it helps a little but as you can imagine, we are just always dying of dehydration. So we go knock on doors and ask for water and they give us Coke, haha which does not help our situation at all. So we just stuff the coke in our bags, I think this week I have collected about 25 cans of soda. So between us 4 missionaries in the apartment we are just saving up and will bring them to the ward party on the 22nd. About Wednesday this week though a giant rainstorm hit us. Elder Ellsworth and I were walking between houses when it hit. It's crazy how fast it went from 105 to a crazy downpour. Anyways we were soaked the rest of the day. The other Elders on the bikes that day were even worse. I'll send some pictures.

So the gang violence here has calmed down a little bit. We have a ton of boarder patrols now and you can always see their green and white Tahoe's at every corner. It makes the day exciting. Most of the crap is going on in the other Elder's area so we are pretty safe so no worries haha.

This weekend we are going to baptize a young man name Lee. He is 14 and is a member of the Rios family who we recently re-activated. He's had a rough life and is ready to make some changes. So stoked for that and he even asked me to baptize him so even better. We are trying to convince him to let a ward member do it but we will see. Anyways that's pretty much what has been going on. Love you all :)

Week 8

Familia!                                             9/4/2012

esta Semana fue muy bien y con exito tambien! Last week was a complete struggle and the Lord has truly blessed us these past few days.

We found a new family that we are teaching in the small town of Premont. The coolest part is that they are Muslim and yeah, it's just really interesting sharing the Gospel with them. They actually believe in most things we do. They are the Sallam family and there are 4 of them. They love the story of Jesus Christ and are very excited about being baptized! They came to church this last week and loved the spirit that they felt there. We are going back tomorrow to visit them so hopefully everything turns out great!

Sorry this letter has been lame but we are really short on time haha Love you all!
