So
wonderful to be able to chit-chat with you all and hear how everything is going
back home. Sounds like every one had an amazing Christmas!
Christmas
is time of miracles and thats exactly how Tuesday went. We woke up, did our morning studies as usual,
and then headed out to work just praying for a miracle. Here in Laredo everyone goes back over to
Mexico for the Holidays and so it is super rare that anyone is ever home. We locked
up our bikes on this street corner and walked down the street looking for some
former investigators from our area book.
We knocked on their homes and there was no answer on any of them...how
lame haha. We walked back to our bikes
and were about to ride off when Elder Magallanes and I just had a powerful
witness of the Spirit that we should stay on that street a little longer. This
was one of the main roads in our area so there was a ton of houses and so we
were lost as what to do...we couldn't knock them all. So we prayed for some guidance and we felt
impressed to go back to the house we just knocked. We did and this woman
answered the door. She explained that she didn't answer the door the first time
because she thought we were police (red flag haha). Then she said she heard a
voice tell her that the next time she ever saw us that she should talk to us.
So she let us in and her and her young family of 3 have a baptismal date on the
27th of January. How neat is that? haha
Hope your
holidays continue to be stellar. Let us never forget the reason for the season
and give of ourselves to others. For
truly, that was what our Heavenly Father did when he gave us the great
vicarious gift of his Son, Jesus Christ.
con
muchisimos amor,
Elder
